Civic Nation Wins Gold at 2023 Anthem Awards

Civic Nation’s When We All Vote and Made To Save honored among top social impact campaigns worldwide

Washington, DC – Today, Civic Nation announced that two of its campaigns were selected as Gold award winners at the 2nd Annual Anthem Awards, which recognize outstanding social impact work across the globe. When We All Vote’s Culture of Democracy Summit won for best Human and Civil Rights Awareness and Media event and Civic Nation’s Made to Save vaccine equity campaign won for best Community Engagement in Health.

Launched by the Webby Awards in 2021, the Anthem Awards honor the purpose and mission-driven work of people, companies and organizations worldwide. This year’s competition received nearly 2,000 entries from 43 countries. By amplifying the voices that spark global change, the Anthem Awards are defining a new benchmark for impactful work that inspires others to take action in their communities. Anthem Winners are selected by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences.

Made to Save: Gold for Community Engagement in Health.

Made to Save and Civic Nation built a diverse coalition of over 1,600 organizations with local trusted messengers, engaged tens of millions of people through direct outreach and training and had millions of conversations with unvaccinated people in more than 20 languages — all in service of closing the COVID-19 vaccine equity gap.

When We All Vote: Gold for Human and Civil Rights Awareness and Media events.

The first-ever Culture of Democracy Summit brought together artists, athletes, academics, grassroots organizers, activists and business leaders to discuss the role we all play in building, shaping and protecting our democracy. Over 1,000 people attended the summit in person, and over 179,000 livestreamed panels and conversations throughout the event, including the keynote by When We All Vote Founder, Michelle Obama.

Much of this award-winning work was done in partnership with the Creative Alliance, Civic Nation’s network of more than 100 of the nation’s top creative and communications agencies who donate their time to develop high-impact campaigns for Civic Nation initiatives. Creative Alliance’s partner agency, Rhythm, won Silver for their work to re-imagine the When We All Vote branding and website.

Civic Nation joins a group of honorees including REI, Rihanna’s The Clara Lionel Foundation, March For Our Lives, Oprah Winfrey Network, Etsy, Human Rights Watch, Salesforce, Pulitzer Center, Ryan Reynolds, NASA, Dove, ACLU, His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Archbishop Desmond Tutu’s Mission: Joy, Chobani, UNICEF and others.
