Statement on the 10th Anniversary of It’s On Us, the Nation’s Largest Nonprofit Combatting Campus Sexual Assault
Today marks 10 years that It’s On Us has been building the movement to combat campus sexual assault by giving students of all identities, especially men, the tools to address the cultural norms at the root of sexual harm. As the nation’s largest nonprofit dedicated to this work, with 300+ campus chapters reaching tens of thousands of students, It’s On Us has become a critical leader in the prevention space. Check out their 10-year anniversary video, reflecting back on a decade of impact, and charting the path forward.
Tracey Vitchers, Executive Director of It’s On Us, issued the following statement today:
“Students always have, and always will be, at the heart of our work at It’s On Us. Our unique student chapter model has enabled us to drive change throughout our diverse network of colleges and universities across the nation. Every day, our campus organizers demonstrate that prevention is possible when students are provided with robust, evidence-based education that is interactive and relevant to their experiences. The cultural norm doesn’t have to be what it is. An education free from sexual violence is possible, but we need to continue investing in it.”
This month, It’s On Us will host their Regional Summit at the Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. On Saturday, September 28, student activists and campus organizers will join an all-day convention to network, receive free training, and listen to special guest speakers.
